People were on their cellphones taking bids from afar, others were desperately eyeing the cars to see if the panels and bumper covers were in decent enough shape to make some cash at the current bidding price. Though there were only a handful of folks at this little auction, the dynamic—the subtle things people did to make sure they made a sound buying decision—was enthralling.
I. agree completely. Not only that, if you ever visited a Goodwill Store, you may have noticed that there are no longer any Name Brand or quality merchandise available for sale. Instead they have pulled all Name Brand or more expensive items and now list these types of items ONLY on their auction site that has serious issues with listings, buyer protection and seller follow through. For a company making millions you’ d think they would let their store customers find some great products and deals, too. But you can’t because they’re all on the auction site and you have to take a chance of ever receiving your item or getting a refund, which of course, you will be on own attempting to either!

Bidding. Get some information about the type of bidding that normally occurs at these auctions. Feel free to ask the consultant about the expected price of a particular vehicle. When the auction starts, raise your hand and registration number card high in the air so the auctioneer can see you. Bids can be in increments of $100, $250 or even $500. This will be up to the auctioneer's discretion. Before bidding, remember that once a bid is made it cannot be withdrawn. Once the bid is won then the bid cards must be immediately filled out and signed. If this is not done then the vehicle can be re-offered. The government can reject any bid

This is about auctions where the cars are the most ordinary of ordinary vehicles: Ford Crown Victorias coming off six years of patrol duty with the county sheriff's department. Toyota Tercels with so much mileage that their odometers have worn off the printed numerals. Plain sedans, base model pickups and early '90s Pontiac Firebirds confiscated in drug stings. Cars you can get cheap—maybe.

Cars at public auctions are often those that wouldn't sell at wholesale dealer auctions. Yes, some are flood vehicles, and Hurricane Irene should still be fresh in your mind. Some are cars quickly reconditioned in dealership shops to fill in slow periods when there's otherwise little work to be done. And many are just flat out junk. "A car that goes across the block at a public auction that isn't spewing smoke is often packed with thick racing oil to ensure it doesn't," Lang continues. "Everything at a public auction looks shiny, but shiny doesn't mean much about the quality of the car."

Real property - Primarily, this consists of developed land with buildings, usually acquired by the federal government for a specific purpose, such as a military base or office building. This also includes some U.S. Forest Service properties, which usually consist of administrative sites and facilities. The General Services Administration (GSA) is the federal agency responsible for selling developed surplus property.

If property belonging to or associated with the owner is any type of firearm, please be advised that the timeline for property release/retrieval will be extended. For safety and security reasons, a background check will be completed on the owner and/or the person designated as Power of Attorney. The background check will NOT be completed on the same day as the owner's/Power of Attorney's first visit to the Property Room. If any firearm has been identified among your property, please provide the Property Room with sufficient individual information about yourself and/or the individual with Power of Attorney authority to complete the background check. If the background check determines either that the owner or the Power of Attorney is prohibited by law from possessing a firearm, it will not be released. This process should generally extend the release or retrieval time by a few days.

Lots at police auctions range from brand new or graded from A down in used condition, or goods may be slightly marked. A good example would be high quality white goods. All items listed in any police auction are available for viewing and inspection prior to the sale. Faulty or damaged goods should be clearly marked, and faults are outlined by the auctioneer during the auction.

“We usually send [PropertyRoom] our jewelry - since they appraise it - and things like high-end Coach purses,” said Robin Neal, property officer with the Fremont, Calif., police department. “My experience of them is that they are very honest with the condition of the item they put online. We have also had officers who work for our department utilize the site for purchase and were very happy with it.”

I know better. I know that I should read reviews before I become active on an auction (or any) web site. I let myself down this time, did not read reviews, and this site is a true scam. All I can say is, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SITE! I agree with everything negative said in these other reviews. I indicated one star on the overall rating only because there is nothing lower.
You must be the owner of the listed property for it to be released to you.  If you are not the owner please see the below section on Power of Attorneys.  Contraband will not be released.  If the property is a firearm, the process will take a few days whereas a background check will be completed on the owner and/or the person picking up the firearm before the firearm will be released. Please contact the property room regarding firearms release. (Please see the "Firearm Background Check" section below.) Background checks are NOT conducted on the same day as pick up.

We also looked at the cost of each service and whether the fees outweigh the benefits. Fees can take away a large chunk of your selling profits, so make sure you understand what each company charges for listing fees, final value fees, and seller verification fees. We calculated all these fees and found that eBay has the highest final value fees, while companies like eBid doesn’t charge listing fees.
