Bidding. Get some information about the type of bidding that normally occurs at these auctions. Feel free to ask the consultant about the expected price of a particular vehicle. When the auction starts, raise your hand and registration number card high in the air so the auctioneer can see you. Bids can be in increments of $100, $250 or even $500. This will be up to the auctioneer's discretion. Before bidding, remember that once a bid is made it cannot be withdrawn. The Proceeds of Crime Act now allows for a court to confiscate any goods that a person can not legally account for. There are many thousands of such court orders issued each year, and items that can not be returned to their legal owner are auctioned off at local auction houses all over the UK at Proceeds of Crime auctions as featured in the BBC documentary series Ill Gotten Gains. Police auctions are an established route used by regional police forces across the country to dispose of proceeds of crime, lost and found, seized, and unclaimed stolen and confiscated property.
To bid, you'll mostly need to go to an auction house on the day and bid in person. However, some auction houses now offer live internet or telephone bidding. You'll have to register to bid with the auction house, whether you're bidding in person or not. You should be able to find out when the next police auction will be held by visiting the auction house's website.

Hi all, I have found a few auctions selling jewelry from police seizures. Has anyone done this? I noticed a couple of things I want to ask about specifically. 1) I see certificates of authenticity from gem associations I have never heard of. Only a couple are GIA certs. Are these scams? 2) I found one ring that was GIA certified, however if you google the number, you see tons of other listings citing the same cert number which is odd to me http://www.seizedpropertyauctions.com/Auction/AuctionDetail/215028/Internet-Auction-667/Jewelry-Diamonds/Lot4052~PLATINUM-GIA-CERTIFIED-ENGAGEMENT-RING-1_80-C_T_W

As we’ve already mentioned, there are always some risks in buying at government or repo car auctions. However, you can significantly lower your risks by knowing what you’re doing, knowing about the car(s) you want, researching your pricing, and understanding how the auction process works. Auctions typically move very fast, so you should attend a few just to learn the pace and bidding techniques.
People were on their cellphones taking bids from afar, others were desperately eyeing the cars to see if the panels and bumper covers were in decent enough shape to make some cash at the current bidding price. Though there were only a handful of folks at this little auction, the dynamic—the subtle things people did to make sure they made a sound buying decision—was enthralling.

Heard the promises of $100 retired military Jeeps and $500 luxury cars confiscated in drug raids? You've likely seen the newspaper ads, flyers and infomercials that were so popular in recent years as part of get-rich-quick schemes, promising to show us how to buy luxury automobiles at a small fraction of their real worth through government auctions.

4. You can't own the car immediately. Unlike when you're shopping for cars from private dealers, with government auction, you still have to wait for at least two weeks before you can possess what you've bought. It may even take longer if there are some problems with your requirements. Hence, it's best if you can have a car professional with you, someone who can offer you advice on the probable requirements that you may have to present.

But there is a twist - NO firearms will be auctioned on PropertyRoom.com. Instead they are offered for auction through Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) partner BudsGunsShop.com on their auction website eGunner.com, a division of BudsGunShop.com. Partnering with an organization like BudsGunShop.com who has over 40 years’ experience in the firearms industry and has sold and shipped over 1 million firearms, ensures that firearms sold will be transferred from FFL to FFL and all legal requirements, including background checks before release, will be completed to the letter of the law.
I returned home wishing I had never gone to this auction, because as someone trying to get over his junky-vehicle hoarding tendencies, I’m not strong enough to handle this kind of temptation. Sure, many of these cars were junk, but they were dirt cheap. And since most were impounded for some sort of driving infraction, there’s a decent chance they move under their own power.
Listia is an interesting online auction site, as instead of vendors listing products for cash, they list them for credits. Sellers can use the credits they earn from auctioning their items to bid on other items. The bidder with the largest number of credits wins the item. The principle highlight of this credit-based system is that auctioneers can turn their clutter into something they really want. Listers signing up to Listia also benefit from immediately earning 1,000 free credits.

Technological advances have contributed to the rise and evolution of this part of the eCommerce marketplace. eBay, for example, has been quick to jump on the growing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI), embedding AI technology, to help sellers become more competitive. eBay’s AI solutions involve identifying gaps in product inventories, alerting sellers when they need to stock up on a particular product. eBay’s evolving features have proven to be of benefit to sellers, creating some legitimate success stories. However, despite eBay being at the forefront of the increasingly competitive online auction market, online sellers should always consider alternative solutions.
