"So what do you really want to do?" Winkler asked. I told him I wanted to be an auctioneer. Then he gave me the preamble to a speech that he also gave to tons of other people in my shoes: "If you will it, it is not a dream." That's what got me to pick up the phone and begin haunting several nearby auto auctions for months on end. And it truly sucked at first. But thanks to the Fonz, I was already living my dream.
If don’t want to deal with extra fees that other sellers tend to charge, eBid is our top value pick. This company never charges you more than three percent in final value fees and there is no cost to verify yourself as a seller. There are two sign up options: as a buyer or as a seller. If you sign up as a buyer for this site you can’t also sell items. As a seller, you pay eBid three percent of the final value of your items, but you can both buy and sell.

Auction Maxx is a well-established auction site, which was founded in Canada in 2012. With over 10,000 registered users, sellers on Auction Maxx can reach a high volume of buyers. One of the key features of Auction Maxx which benefits sellers, is that the site is committed to constantly promoting the items for sale through a number of advertising channels, meaning items gain maximum exposure.
Hi all, I have found a few auctions selling jewelry from police seizures. Has anyone done this? I noticed a couple of things I want to ask about specifically. 1) I see certificates of authenticity from gem associations I have never heard of. Only a couple are GIA certs. Are these scams? 2) I found one ring that was GIA certified, however if you google the number, you see tons of other listings citing the same cert number which is odd to me http://www.seizedpropertyauctions.com/Auction/AuctionDetail/215028/Internet-Auction-667/Jewelry-Diamonds/Lot4052~PLATINUM-GIA-CERTIFIED-ENGAGEMENT-RING-1_80-C_T_W

Several years later, liquidators and wholesale merchants reached out to us interested in utilizing our online auction services and platform as a way to liquidate their goods. As one of our goals is to provide great deals to our shoppers we started allowing a few, hand-selected and Trusted ShopKeepers to sell on our site. Now we have even more quality goods from store close-outs or overstock products up for auction.
Car auctions are a weird and fantastic world, and in my two decades in that scene, I've seen some pretty astonishing things. The old adage that "your decisions in life dictate your future" really rings true at an auction. This business is all about split-second decisions; that can mean buying anything from a two-year-old Ferrari to a 20-year-old Buick. Whether you've just sprung for junk or pure gold, you're stuck with it. When I tell folks, "You just bought that car and whatever just fell off it," they laugh -- unless they're hearing me say it for the 200th time.
Lots at police auctions range from brand new or graded from A down in used condition, or goods may be slightly marked. A good example would be high quality white goods. All items listed in any police auction are available for viewing and inspection prior to the sale. Faulty or damaged goods should be clearly marked, and faults are outlined by the auctioneer during the auction.
Some sellers agree to use an escrow service. For a fee, generally 5 percent of the cost of the item paid by the buyer, an escrow service accepts payment from the buyer via check, money order or credit card. The service releases the money to the seller only after the buyer receives and approves the merchandise. It helps protect buyers from ending up empty-handed after paying their money. Using an escrow service can delay the deal. As with any business transaction, investigate the escrow service's reputation before signing on to the service.

eCRATER is one of the smallest online auction sites, but the seller verification policies make it very appealing, especially if you’re just getting started. The site charges no monthly subscription fees or a seller verification fee. In addition, you don't pay a final value fee on items you've sold, unless the item was sold through the main marketplace. Even then, the fee is just 2.9 percent of the sale, a significantly lower percentage than sites like eBay. With fewer upfront fees, it's easy to get started auctioning off items. However, eCRATER has some significant limitations for full-time sellers. For starters, the site only has about 65,000 users, so the total number of eyeballs you get on items is not going to compete with larger auction sites. Secondly, you can't sell and ship anywhere outside the U.S. And finally, eCRATER doesn't support HTML or other coding, and this limits your ability to customize your store to fit your brand, limiting your growth as a seller.
It has been a pure pleasure to deal with your company.  Thank you for the prompt payment as well.  It would be nice if more businesses were as caring and customer oriented as you are.  I shall certainly recommend your firm when opportunity arises.  My most sincere wishes to you and your family – and your employees – for a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2014.

Listia is an interesting online auction site, as instead of vendors listing products for cash, they list them for credits. Sellers can use the credits they earn from auctioning their items to bid on other items. The bidder with the largest number of credits wins the item. The principle highlight of this credit-based system is that auctioneers can turn their clutter into something they really want. Listers signing up to Listia also benefit from immediately earning 1,000 free credits.

Other types of vehicles that might be found at a government auction are “seized” or “impounded”, which means they have been confiscated by a law enforcement agency for various reasons. Some have been taken from criminals who have used the vehicles in the conduct of their crimes. Others have simply been impounded for violations of motor vehicle laws. Still others are “unclaimed” or “abandoned” by owners.
When the rightful owner of property stored in the Property Room is deceased, the Property Room is prohibited by law from releasing those items without a valid court order issued by Probate Court. Once a probate court order is issued, please contact the Columbus Police Property Room in advance, and a Property Room Clerk will ensure you have the necessary information before arrival at the Property Room. I, too, unfortunately did not research before starting business with these frauds. All their products appear fake and I doubt it's a real auction at all - I saw what appeared to be glitches in software. I had to have my credit card cancelled and have multiple transactions in dispute with my bank; I am going to try to dispute the shipping charges as well, as that's how I think they keep making money. Google playstore is working on removing their mobile app, as they also found some anomalies in addition to my report (which doesn't work well anyway - another red flag). Have reported them to the FTC. Will be reporting to other federal agencies, UPS, the Postmaster General, and the State of California, as that is where there merchandise is sent from, and to anybody else who will listen.

"Most of the cars at a public auction are the worst trade-ins or very rough repos." And as in a government auction, you can't drive a public auction vehicle before you bid on it.

1. You're not used to the process. It may sound like an ordinary auction, but it's not. There are rules that need to be followed, plus the fact that you're practically dealing with the government. Your fear and awkwardness can definitely affect your bidding decision. To ensure that you will be able to bid properly, get yourself comfortable not only with the auction procedures but also with the people around you. They normally have practice auctions. It's ideal if you can attend at least one of them. You may also try to observe real government auctions and take note of how veterans bid for these cars.

These programs are meant to benefit taxpayers as a whole, but could they benefit you, the individual taxpayer? Can you bag a bargain at a government auction? "GSA's goal is to maximize return to the federal government," the GSA spokesperson said. So they're not giving this stuff away. In fact, the government sets "reserves" or minimums for the most valuable property it auctions off. But judging from a wide tour of current government auctions and bids, there are still opportunities to walk away with valuable goods for a great price. Here's a look at who's selling what, where, and for how much.

Interest in these auctions has boomed as the economy stays stagnated and credit rules have tightened. Buyers who formerly could qualify for auto loans on new or solid used cars now find they need to shop with cash. But the United States is a country built around the automobile, and it's a lot easier to get a job if you have a car to drive to the interview, so for many people car auctions are a way to fill the need.

This auction site doesn’t offer as many payment methods as other sites we researched. You can accept payments through PPPay.com, PayPal or Skrill, and eBid does charge a transaction fee on all purchases.
