First of all Police Auctions is NOT related in any way to real police auctions. Their name is fraudulent. Their items are 100% fake as we know now. Their 'business' will be shut down very soon, we'll make sure to contribute to that. We ordered four items including one with 19 diamonds. Upon arrival, all 19 diamonds were invisible to the human eye! Worse, we examined them under a magnifying glass, and they were crude, terrible fakes. Worse still, 5 were missing completely, with holes where the fakes had been. The items were all absolutely terrible, shoddy ripoff material, with no weight to them. The auctions are being bidded on by robots, that is now very clear. The same item get auctioned, because they are NOT the items in the photos. Their confused, deceptive policy can't sugarcoat the fraud that they are committing in selling phony bidded, bait and switch, fake material, and outright missing content items. Make sure you get a refund with all your involved institutions. Beware to all who enter.

We recommend that you print this out or have it available on a mobile device. The time you have reserved is on the lower half of the ticket. We cannot take residents for a time in which you have not been scheduled.

To bid, you'll mostly need to go to an auction house on the day and bid in person. However, some auction houses now offer live internet or telephone bidding. You'll have to register to bid with the auction house, whether you're bidding in person or not. You should be able to find out when the next police auction will be held by visiting the auction house's website.


Shpock is a “boot sale” app and is the abbreviation of ‘SHop in your POCKet’. The platform was launched by two Austrian entrepreneurs. It encourages sellers to list unwanted but ‘beautiful things’ to buyers in their local area. Shpock is easy to users, sellers simply have to upload photos of an item with a description, then watch the bids roll in. Items can either be collected in person or shipped.

We were in the process of downsizing when a friend attended a program by Mr. Will Farmer on appraising, auctions and today’s styles and trends. She relayed that our mid-century modern furniture was back in vogue. We were familiar with the Farmer name from Antiques Roadshow, but knew little about the auction business. We showed Will Farmer, now owner of the business, photographs of our furniture and he was interested. He came to our home, looked at the furniture, described the auction process and carefully reviewed the contract we would sign. From start to finish the entire process was very professional. The Salem, Virginia gallery is spacious and well organized with plenty of parking. The entire staff is very friendly and courteous. The movers were very nice and careful. We were kept informed at every step. We were given a possible range of prices each item might bring, but no promises were made. Auction day was fascinating and fun. Some items brought more than expected and some less. In the end it was a wonderful experience and one we would not hesitate to do again.
